GEORGE NEWS - Some six years ago, in 2017, Peter Grube visited Mountain Zebra Park in the Eastern Cape.
During his visit he found a memory card which, when he checked back home, detailed an entire trip logged two years earlier, in 2015, starting from Cape Town right through the Garden Route to the Mountain Zebra Park.
"It went into a drawer and when I was checking it again in detail, I found a Fortuner with a registration number [CAW 80456]," said Grube.
He believes the memory card belongs to a young German who visited South Africa in 2015 and was hosted by the driver of the Fortuner.
When Grube moved from Johannesburg to Plettenberg Bay last year, the memory card was unpacked and uncovered.
"I tried to find an owner for the Fortuner. No luck, since the registration number does not belong to a current Fortuner," said Grube. "So I thought as a final shot, publish it and see if someone looks at it and says, 'Hey, that's John's car and his German friend Klaus'. Let's make somebody happy."
If you have any information that might lead to finding the owner of the memory card, please contact Grube on 083 381 5929 or send an email to petergrube@outlook.com.
It is believed that the traveller was hosted by the driver of this Fortuner. The registration number, however, does not belong to a current Fortuner.
