GEORGE NEWS - What did Joel Stransky, Bruce Fordyce, Nick Bester, Sanani Mangisa and former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh do on Tuesday morning? They cycled through George for charity in pouring rain.
These sport celebrities and other cyclists are taking part in the African Icons Invitational cycling event, and passed through George after they left Wilderness earlier that morning.
The aim of the race is to raise funds for the orphans and widows of South African police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. All funds raised will go to support their education and help with a monthly income for these families.
The African Icons Invitational started in Port Elizabeth on 30 September and will end in Botrivier on Friday 5 October.
