GEORGE NEWS - A public march focusing on transport-related concerns is planned for tomorrow, Friday 17 April. The organisers describe the march as a peaceful demonstration aimed at advocating for fair and inclusive transport services.
Participants will gather from 06:00, and proceedings are expected to continue until 13:00.
The march will start at Cheap Foods in Nelson Mandela Boulevard and proceed to the George Municipality.
The march revolves around several key demands, including the issuing of operator licences for scholar services, meter taxis, e-hailing services such as Bolt, Uber and inDrive, as well as public taxis.
They are also calling for a more competitive public transport environment that offers fair opportunities to all operators.
