GEORGE NEWS - Those who missed this year's Goldco Spares Polar Bear charity swim at Victoria Bay, need not fear.
The polar bear swim (Ysbeertjie) will be taking place at Santos Beach in Mossel Bay for another swim today, Sunday 21 July at 15:00. Registration starts at 14:00. Organiser Felix Burri and his team will also be back in George next year.
Ysbeertjie originally from the Free State, has been holding polar plunges in Ventersburg, Bloemfontein and Sutherland for the past 29 years.
Victoria Bay has now been added as the fourth venue to this event to put George on the Ysbeertjie map. The event aims to raise money to make beaches more wheelchair friendly.
For a donation of R100, entrants received the glory of a couple of ice-cold minutes in the ocean for a good deed and a medal for their bravery and participation.
