OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Colleen Smith, the founder of Oudtshoorn Dogs in Need (Odin), the animal rescue sanctuary located in the Klein Karoo, is appealing for the public’s help after the facility and kennels once again suffered severe damage over the last two days due to relentless rain in the area.
She posted on Odin’s Facebook page: “When we arrive at the farm and, again, no access … we need a 4x4 … so … VASBYT and walk the kilometre. The challenges feel rather unfair. We think the weather is pushing us elsewhere.
"Sorry Marlene and staff … however, some dogs don’t seem to object.”
The paths at the facility are flooded and the doggies are cold and wet. On the list of urgent needs are blankets, doggy jackets and some sort of cover for the kennels. Of course, food is always welcome.
