GEORGE NEWS - The collapse of a section of the main route to Nelson Mandela University (NMU) George Campus has also impacted staff and students.
A section of Madiba Drive has collapsed, leaving the Seven Passes road from Wilderness as the only access route to the campus.
Campus communications officer Milisa Piko said, "A few in-person, mask-to-mask examinations were quickly moved to an online assessment format and arrangements put in place for future exams.
"Alternative transport plans were also introduced".
The specifics of arrangements are being continuously shared with George Campus staff, who have introduced WhatsApp groups to better manage their operations in the present circumstances.
Staff were also advised to stay in contact with their line managers and where possible, continue to work from home.
