New Year's Day babies: Girls outnumber boys

GEORGE NEWS - The girls outnumbered the boys when it came to the number of babies delivered at the George Hospital and Mediclinic George on New Year's Day.

At the George Hospital a total of eight babies were born, six girls and two boys.

Nicole Arendse's baby girl was the first baby born at George Hospital.

EFF member of parliament, Natasha Ntlangwini from George, were among the new mums at the Mediclinic George where she gave birth to her fourth daughter, Ahluma. The little girl was born at 09:02 and weighed 2,2 kg at birth. Both mother and child were doing well when George Herald visited them in hospital; and dad Sivuyile was busy with Kangaroo care.

Two more girls and one boy were also born at Mediclinic. The first baby born was Melissa and Shaun Jackson's little girl, Emily, who arrived at 07:46.
