GEORGE NEWSFLASH - The woman from George who died after the vehicle she was traveling in rolled on the N2 near Jeffreys Bay on Friday evening, 9 March, was Sonita Lawrence (46).
She was a nurse at Mediclinic George.
Humansdorp cluster police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, said Lawrence was a passenger in a silver Peugot traveling towards Port Elizabeth.
At approximately 19:30 a second vehicle, a Nissan bakkie with a trailer, also traveling towards Port Elizabeth apparently stopped on the side of the road due to a puncture.
“The driver of the Peugot had to swerve to avoid colliding with the bakkie and trailer.
"He lost control of the vehicle after which the car rolled,” he said.
Lawrence was declared dead on the scene.
Two other injured passengers and the driver were taken to a hospital in Humansdorp.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
