Pieter Myburgh (53), from George, a sub-contractor delivering newspapers and magazines, was taken to the George Mediclinic with head injuries where he passed away two hours later.
His assistant received light injuries.
Metro Emergency Services and ER24 were on the scene.
The cause of the accident will be released at a later stage.
For the last eight years Myburgh was chairman of both the Garden Route Pigeon Federation and the Eden Pigeon Club.
