Update
GEORGE NEWS - A 38-year-old man was taken into custody on Sunday 24 November in connection with the alleged brutal rape and murder of Bianca Matroos (26).
According to George police communications officer, Capt Nolonwabo Tshengu, the suspect was identified by means of CCTV footage. His name cannot be made public until he has pleaded.
She could not confirm where the footage was from.
Matroos’ body was found by passers-by in a field between George Riding Club and the N2. Matroos had no connection to the riding club.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in the George Magistrate’s Court today.
