GEORGE NEWS - Life Community Services enjoyed a wonderful time of giving back to their donors at their thank-you breakfast, themed 'Together we are making a difference', held at Shofar Church on Thursday 25 July.
CEO Maryna de Vries said that it is the people in the organisation together with donors who create a momentum of change.
The staff made the breakfast happen and when the doors opened for the public, everything was in place: the lovely breakfast foods, steaming hot Imprint Coffee (Life's own brand), smiling faces and the air filled with anticipation from the Life team.
The guest speaker, singer Elvis Blue (Jan Hoogendyk), spoke about why he has been involved in Life Community Services for more than 20 years.
He was thanked for the long and gruelling cycle trip from George to Nelspruit that he undertook recently to raise money for Life Christian Academy and the organisation in general.
The audience was pleasantly surprised when Life's own choir, led by Denzel Kennedy, blessed the attendees with their clear rendition of the song Skoolgeld, written by Elvis Blue. To hear the song, follow Elvis Blue on social media - it is streaming on many different platforms.
Garden Route Mall marketing manager Tumi Masango also shared her passion for what Life does. The mall has been involved in the ministry for over 10 years.
A friend of the ministry, SJ Kok, who has a massive impact, shared in an articulate and passionate manner why he is 100% behind Life's resolve and dedication to a holistic approach for the children attending its programmes.
The riches of the morning was food for the soul that lasted the rest of the day for all who attended. Together with the scripture verse, Galatians 6:9 and10, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up...", the programme was thought-provoking and gave momentum to others to become involved in supporting Life.
De Vries expressed a heartfelt thanks from the Life team to all who attended the breakfast.
