GEORGE NEWS - The news article published on 7 March titled "Red tape drags out landfill project" contained some incorrect statements about iX Engineers and their role in the public-private partnership process for the Garden Route Regional Landfill Facility.
The consultant, namely iX Engineers, is responsible for providing transactional advice on the public-private partnership process of the Regional Landfill Facility.
They are not involved in the contract between Garden Route District Municipality and Eden Waste Management, the private partner. They are also not responsible for the delay in the finalisation of the loan agreement between the Development Bank of South Africa and Eden Waste Management.
