KNYSNA NEWS - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 56-year-old Patrick Clifton Spies, whose body was discovered in Protea Street, Hornlee, in the early hours of Monday 7 September.
An inquest docket has been opened as police work to establish what led to Spies’ death.
Spies, affectionately known as Pat, was the brother of well-known Southern Cape police spokesperson Warrant Officer Chris Spies.
Police were alerted at approximately 04:30 after a passer-by came across Spies’ body and reported the discovery.
Knysna police officers and medical personnel attended the scene, where Spies was declared dead. The circumstances surrounding the events before his death remain unclear.
