GEORGE NEWS - Two national removal companies confirmed that they are helping a lot of people moving from other provinces.
Stuttafords Van Lines manager in Johannesburg, Jo Prinsloo, said there is a definite increase in clients moving to the Garden Route.
"That is while the moving trend to Cape Town is maintaining its usual pace. I think the pandemic has caused people to look for an improved lifestyle. Many are moving to estates in the Garden Route."
A local branch manager of another national removal company who spoke anonymously said, although they are not as busy as three to four years ago, the pace started picking up again from October last year.
In the week ending 4 March, six of their vehicles downloaded in George for people moving from the Cape and Gauteng. He said storage facilities are also full to overflowing.
