GEORGE NEWS - A 41-year-old man was arrested earlier today, Thursday 27 April, on a charge of murder after he allegedly stabbed his wife (51) to death at a guesthouse in Aspeling Street this morning.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the man reported the incident at the George police station shortly after it happened.
"Members attached to the George police were dispatched to the scene at about 09:50. On arrival they found the victim with multiple stab wounds in the bedroom of a guest house in Aspeling Street," said Spies.
She was declared dead by medical personnel on the scene and the man was arrested.
The motive for this killing is yet to be established. It forms part of the ongoing police probe.
The suspect remains in custody and will appear in court once formally charged.
