GEORGE NEWS - A kind-hearted animal lover, Debbie Campbell, has taken it upon herself to collect much-needed food for the local animal welfare organisation, Odin.
Initially Campbell, who works at Earls Court Lifestyle Estate, rallied residents from the estate to donate food towards the good cause.
"My aim was to collect 1 000kg of food. Residents stepped in and we collected just shy of 600kg so far," she said.
The sad reality is that the food will probably only last for two or three weeks. It is for this reason that Campbell decided to challenge all the other estates in the George area to equal or beat their donation.
"I know Odin always needs help, so I decided to run a little fundraiser at the estate. My objective now is to challenge other estates to equal or better our effort. If one or two more estates can join in and just see if they can better our haul, that will make a huge difference to Odin," said Campbell.
