GEORGE NEWS - Personnel at the Thembalethu Magistrate’s Court commemorated Madiba Day with an act of kindness, bringing a warm glow in the chilly and occasionally wet weather. In honour of Nelson Mandela’s legacy, court staff distributed hot soup and muffins to their colleagues and those waiting outside courtrooms last Thursday, 18 July.
The recipients, both colleagues and members of the public, expressed gratitude for the thoughtful act.
The initiative aimed not only to provide physical warmth but also to uplift spirits and create a sense of community. For those waiting long hours for their cases to be heard, the hot soup and muffins offered a much-needed respite from the cold and a reminder of Mandela's enduring message of compassion and service to others.
Nosicelo Dyusha and Vuyiseka Mtabati went around the hallways and made sure everyone had soup.
