GEORGE NEWS - The community of Herold gathered for their annual Youth Day celebrations at a local farm on Saturday 21 June.
The day began with motivational messages from the police and the George CPF, emphasising unity and safety in rural areas.
The event brought together various stakeholders, including the SAPS, George Municipal Traffic, emergency medical services, SANParks, CapeNature, correctional services and various volunteer groups, all supported by local farmers and businesses.
The youth participated enthusiastically in soccer, netball, rugby and a 5km fun run, while their families cheered them on.
Local vendors added to the festive spirit with food stalls, and a youth-led recycled fashion show impressed the crowd with creativity and flair.
The police management applauded the collaborative effort that made the event possible, highlighting the value of community partnerships. The day ended with a prize-giving ceremony.
