GEORGE NEWS - Still don't know where you can spend your 67 minutes for Mandela Day tomorrow, 18 July? Well, look no further.
You can assist the George Hospital in cleaning up Camphersdrift River and the surrounding parkland.
The event kicks off at 16:15. So bring your rubber gloves, long-handled braai tongs and sturdy shoes or gumboots, roll up your sleeves and get behind the event.
The hospital would like to mobilise the hospital staff, local residents, and wider George community to get as many people as possible involved to give their 67 minutes on Mandela Day.
The hospital challenges businesses to get their staff involved.
This project is part of the broader campaign by George Hospital to implement sustainable practices in response to the global threat of climate change.
Once the area has been cleaned up, the next phase of the project will be to keep the area free of alien vegetation and maintain the area in future.
Secure parking is available. Please use the main entrance at the hospital.
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” – Nelson Mandela
