GEORGE NEWS - James-Brent Styan of the Western Cape department of local government and environment as well as the George Municipality has confirmed that the fire perimeter depicted in the photo adjacent to Heatherlands on the north west side of the suburb is under control and not posing any danger under the current conditions.
Ground crews are on the scene.
The smoke column is being caused by smoldering fuel in the centre of the perimeter.
Currently no risk of it spreading or spotting further.
