GEORGE NEWS - Avid golfers from across George took out their clubs in aid of the animals at the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) on Thursday 28 October to support the PDSA and Shoe Box Project Annual Golf Day at the George Golf Club.
The PDSA's Moira Gibbs and Janine Pretorius of the Shoe Box Project thank everyone who participated in, or contributed in any way towards the success of the day.
"This is the third year in a row that we have joined forces to host this charity challenge golf day and as promised, every year it just gets bigger and better," said Gibbs.
The two charities each received R37 500 from the proceeds of this golf day - nearly double what they received last year.
"The money raised for the Shoe Box Project will brighten the lives of many underprivileged children and elderly people this Christmas and the money raised for the PDSA will enable us to continue our work helping animals in need, as well as for much-needed maintenance to our animal hospital building in Conville.
"We look forward to everyone's kind support and participation in our golf day again next year. Please watch this space," said Gibbs.
