GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The ER24 team from the Southern Cape literally breathed a sigh of relief when they were handed not one, but six continuous positive airway pressure therapy (CPAP) machines by the Gift of the Givers Foundation on Tuesday 12 January.
These machines assist in increasing air pressure in the throat to prevent the airway from collapsing when breathing in.
The Gift of the Givers Foundation is the largest disaster response, non-governmental organisation of African origin on the African continent and they provide assistance to those who need them.
"We thank Gift of the Givers from the bottom of our hearts. This will definitely assist us on call-outs when lives are in danger and help us to make our work during the Covid-19 pandemic just that little bit easier," said ER24 Southern Cape branch manager, Charl Pretorius.
