MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Whispering with Dogs Donation Angel Foundation is raising money for pet food for the months of January and February, which are often difficult months for animal welfare charities. 

After the festive season, few people have money left to donate to charitable causes, so the Mossel Bay-based foundation is holding a competition now to boost its fundraising efforts. 

It is giving away 10 tandem skydiving jumps worth R1 500 each and a deep sea fishing voucher worth R1 300 in a lucky draw for those who donate to the foundation. 

The lucky draw for the tandem sky dives and deep sea fishing voucher will take place at the end of December.

Sponsors have provided these prizes and the foundation is extremely grateful to these sponsors.

The foundation hopes to raise enough funds - R15 000 - this month to donate at least a ton of dog and cat food to Borcherds Paws animal charity for January and February. 

Tens of thousands raised for charity 

Over the past year, from December 2024 to December 2024, the Whispering with Dogs Donation Angel Foundation raised tens of thousands of rands for charity organisations. 

The foundation raised the following amounts:

• R12 000 for the Hartenbos Feral Cat organisation, for food. 

• R31 000 worth of medical supplies for Borcherds Paws. 

• R7 000 for the Child Welfare Great Brak branch Christmas party for children in foster care, for gift bags. 

• 3,540 tons of dog and cat food for Borcherds Paws. 

• R7 650 to sterilise 17 animals at Borcherds Paws.
