GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEO - The Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehab Centre at the George Botanical Gardens, the only one in George, has lost multiple enclosures in the recent storms and is closed to the public for essential repairs.
Sadly, one of the beloved residents, an African Wood Owl, lost its life.
Appeal for help
The facility has made a desperate appeal to the public for assistance. They are in dire need of shade netting, gum poles and purlin wood to rebuild the damaged enclosures. Financial donations would also be most welcome.
The facility was established in 2018 by Bertus and Lizzette Beukes to provide a sanctuary for the rehabilitation of injured birds of prey and for birds that cannot be released back into nature.
