GEORGE NEWS - A procession to celebrate the first 100 days in office of George Mayor Jackie von Brandis, will take place in York Street tomorrow, Friday 4 October.
The procession will consist of a motorcade of municipal vehicles and a parade. A motorcade of George Traffic vehicles will depart from the Skatelab to Pick n Pay in York Street at 12:30.
At 12:45 the motorcade and a procession of councillors and officials on foot will make their way from Pick n Pay to the front entrance of the George Civic Centre.
To accommodate the celebration the left lane of York Street heading towards Pacaltsdorp and the CBD will be closed from 12:30 to 13:00.
Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays during this time. The right lane of York Street will remain open to traffic and according to a municipal statement all lanes will be open by 13:00.
