LOCAL NEWS - The latest Route Network Update released by Cape Town Air Access, driven by Wesgro, shows that this January, George Airport handled just under 84 000 two-way passengers, equating to a year-on-year growth rate of 14%, compared to January 2025.
In the same period, Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) handled over 367 000 two-way passengers at the international terminal, marking a 9% year-on-year increase.
The domestic terminal processed more than 680 000 two-way passengers in January, a 6% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Due to the conflict in the Middle East following the Israeli and US attacks on Iran that started on Saturday 28 February, Middle East airspace closures have resulted in flight cancellations at Cape Town International Airport. Passengers are advised to contact their airlines or relevant embassies for the latest flight schedules and status updates.
