GEORGE NEWS - Three adorable, furry-coated visitors to Mustbuild melted everyone's hearts as they livened up a Dulux Paint display for a few hours on Monday 16 February.
These Old English Sheepdogs, Jade, YoYo and Orion, are used to being the centre of attention as they are Dulux Paint's mascots and travel to visit paint shops for this purpose throughout a large part of the year.
Mustbuild's staff and clients were eager for a chance to pose with these three celebrity pooches.
Their owner, Sue Green of Joy Dogs, said the Dulux brand's connection with the Old English Sheepdog breed in the UK dates back some 50 years. Green herself has been involved with the 'Dulux Dogs' in South Africa for 30 years. She imports them from a breeder in Russia.
"YoYo and Orion are from Russia, and I got Jade from a previous South African owner. There are no breeders in our country."
Orion, the male, is the face of the Dulux Easycare TV advert.
They are loving, gentle dogs, and Green says they also visit care facilities where they bring joy to the elderly and have a therapeutic effect on them.
Grooming the dogs is time-consuming and demands patience. Their daily brush yields enough hair for Green to spin into wool, with which she has knitted all sorts of articles, including jerseys, scarves and beanies, over the years.
