GEORGE NEWS - The police in Thembalethu arrested four suspects - three men and a woman - on charges of murder, kidnapping and assault with the intent to commit grievous bodily harm on Sunday, 29 December. 

They remain in police custody and will appear in court once charged.

Circumstances surrounding the death of a 61-year-old woman and assault of two others forms part of an ongoing police investigation.

“The identities of the suspects cannot be revealed at this stage because they are yet to be formally charged and appear in court,” says Police Spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies.

Spies says an investigation into the disappearance of two women from a house at Zone 3 on Friday, 27 December, took police to bushes near Pacaltsdorp where the body of the woman was found yesterday (Sunday 29 December), at about 19:00.

“Another woman was found in a hospital in George earlier. A third woman also opened a case on Sunday,” says Spies. “Investigation into this matter is at a very early stage.”
