GEORGE NEWS - Two recce story evenings will take place on 15 and 16 October at the Moth Shellhole in George.
The events are being presented by the South African Special Forces Association's Fort Outeniqua branch, and representatives from headquarters in Pretoria will also attend.
"These events will focus on the dramatic events and the amazing achievements of the recces prior to and during Operation Amazon," said the organisers.
"It will include explanations of the reconnaissance, planning, preparation and attack phases leading up to the final results of the operation at the oil storage facilities and the cement factory in Lobito Harbour in Angola."

The Outeniqua Moth Shellhole is at the corner of Rijk Tulbach Street and De Chevonne Avenue, Loerie Park, George.
The cost is R250 per person, dinner included, and a cash bar will be available.
Dress code: smart casual
Advance bookings with payment are required. You will be issued with an e-ticket for the event once proof of payment has been received.
All payments must be completed within three days after registering online. No refunds will be made if cancellation is within three days of the event.
