GEORGE NEWS - Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene and some of Treasury's staff members were in George at the weekend to attend a fund-raising event at Fancourt.
The weather permitted them a break at WildX Adventures in Wilderness where the minister enjoyed some quad-biking.
Nene's office confirmed to the George Herald that they attended the event, saying that National Treasury has for many years been partnering with the private sector to raise funds for community projects.
"This is done through the hosting of a golf tournament which is funded through sponsorship by the private sector. This year's event raised funds for the building of three of the four classrooms for Maphutha Secondary School in Mayibuye, Midrand, Gauteng."
