GEORGE NEWS - The following streets are affected by the continuing emergency repairs at Lavalia M24 Minisub:
Kaktus, Kapokblom, Kalosie, Portion Park, Portion Kalkontjie, Kanna, Kokerboom, Krismisroos, Karmelia, Katjiepiering and Kosmos Streets
Power could not be restored at 16:00 as previously communicated.
While reinstating electrical services, a design change had to be implemented to reinstate the electrical supply to meet occupational Health & Safety compliance.
This design change required the team to replace Medium Voltage (MV) underground bundle with MV underground cable, resulting in an additional 5 hours of work.
The new estimated time for completion of repairs is 22:00.
