GEORGE NEWS - An elderly couple was assaulted and robbed in their home in Ballots Bay Heights on Monday evening, 6 June.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, three unidentified men entered the residence at about 18:45 and proceeded to the living room where they accosted the husband (64) and wife (62).
"The wife was forced to the ground by the men while her husband was assaulted using unknown objects. He sustained serious head injuries. The suspects made off with some jewelry before they fled the scene," said Spies.
Both victims were taken to hospital for medical care. No arrests have been made.
