GEORGE NEWS - The Garden Route Botanical Garden (GRBG) will host a full day of workshops this coming Saturday 14 April.
The event will be presented by citizen scientists, academics and environmental practitioners at its Environmental Education Centre.
Each event will cost just R20 per person, or alternatively, R80 will get you entrance to all eight activities.
The programme of interactive talks and tours is as follows (note: times may change due to weather conditions):
08:30 - Insect, reptile and fungi identification
10:30 - Indigenous flora of the Southern Cape
12:00 - Organic vegetable gardening workshop (learn how to build your own worm farm)
14:00 - Birding in the garden
17:30 - Frogging the garden
19:00 - Star gazing the Southern Cape Skies (talk and interactive tour using the GRBG's new telescope).
Throughout the day, visitors can also contribute towards the scientific research of Elie Pedarros on the spatial ecology of baboons within the George area.
The talks and tours are suitable for nature enthusiasts of all ages.
