Update
GEORGE NEWS - The 42-year-old Daniella “Nellie” Scholtz, who was reported missing on Wednesday 25 February, has still not been found. The search for her continues.
Scholtz disappeared at approximately 9:20 on Wednesday morning from Blanco in George.
According to information received, she works as a manager at Liquor City in George Street, Blanco. As part of her daily routine, she would move between two liquor stores owned by the same local owner to ensure everything was in order. This was not unusual.
CCTV footage shows Scholtz leaving her workplace on foot and withdrawing money at the Liquor City Blanco ATM in George Street at about 09:20. She informed a colleague that she was walking to another liquor store in Montagu Street, approximately 700 metres away.
At 09:35 she was seen on CCTV passing a bus stop. At 09:38 she was observed at the corner of Montagu Street and Maitland Street, and shortly thereafter walking down Maitland Street. She never arrived at the second store.
Her cellphone was later switched off.
It has since been confirmed that she made telephonic contact with her mother and indicated that she is safe, however she has not been found. The search continues.
Scholtz lives in an apartment behind the store with her husband, Regardt, and their two sons, aged 18 and 21.
At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing blue jeans and a dark blue or navy branded T-shirt, with beige-coloured sandals with gold trim. She was carrying a grey sling bag over her shoulder. She did not have a sweater or jersey with her.
She is described as 1.65m tall, weighing approximately 85kg, with long blonde hair usually tied in a ponytail or bun and brown eyes. She has no tattoos or birthmarks and has a long face with full lips and dimples.
Scholtz is not regarded as a vulnerable person. She has no known medical condition or disability and was reportedly in a normal emotional state prior to her disappearance.
A missing person’s case has been lodged and the matter remains under investigation.
