GEORGE NEWS - A cyclist from Paarl sustained serious injuries when he fell into the huge gap left in Madiba Drive after Monday's floods.
The incident, in which the cyclist sustained multiple serious fractures, occurred on Friday 26 November between 08:00 and 08:30.
He was found by a passer-by who alerted emergency services.
The patient was transported to a local hospital by ER24 paramedics, after which they took him back to Paarl last night.
He is recovering in hospital and is in a stable condition.
Madiba Drive was closed for traffic after a section of the road was completely washed away.
