GEORGE NEWS - A 29-year old constable from the Pacaltsdorp police station was arrested on charges of theft of motor vehicle, fraud and intimidation yesterday, Wednesday 26 May.
Southern Cape police spokesperson, Capt Malcolm Pojie, said the constable was placed in custody and detained in George.
He appeared in the George Magistrate's Court this morning (27 May).
"It is alleged that he misled and threatened the owner of a Mercedes sedan in Thembalethu on Thursday 20 May, after which he took the vehicle under false pretences," said Pojie.
