GEORGE NEWS - Thembalethu detectives are searching for the killers of a 33-year old man who was stabbed to death on Sunday 26 January when he refused to hand over his belongings to the thugs who accosted him.
The victim, Akhona Ntlonti from Kwanonqaba, Mossel Bay, was walking in Tabata Street in Zone 7, Thembalethu with a friend when two men demanded their cellphones and wallets.
Thembalethu police spokesperson, Captain Dumile Gwavu said they refused to give their belongings to the robbers and attempted to fight them off, but Akhona was stabbed on his upper body and fell to the ground. The killers then fled the scene.
A passing motorists rushed him to George Hospital, but Akhona died on arrival. No one has been arrested. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Xolani Tukulula on 044 802 8943.
