GEORGE NEWS - The Garden Route Botanical Gardens need help with weeding. Numerous beds, including the medicinal spiral mound and fynbos beds, are in need of attention.
This presents a significant challenge for their modest gardening team, but one that can be easily overcome with collective effort.
Under the guidance of our gardening team, your contributions will aid the botanical gardens in their ongoing battle against weeds.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge about various plants.
"Our initial weeding session is scheduled for after the parkrun on Saturday, 24 February from 09:30 to 11:00. Please convene at the Environmental Centre. Ensure you bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), a water bottle, snacks, and your gardening equipment, including gloves and tools such as a garden fork, weeding tool, and pruning saw," says parkrun volunteer Lisa de Speville.
For any inquiries, please contact Ray Smith at 082 898 0929, or simply join them on Saturday.
