GEORGE NEWS - Excitement is building in bowling circles for the 2024 Personal Trust Ladies+ Men's All Cape Tournament that starts this weekend with the opening ceremony at the George Bowling Club.
It is one of the biggest bowling tournaments in the Western Cape and more than 1 200 players will participate at different clubs in the Garden Route.
The opening for the ladies is on Sunday 7 April at 08:30 at George Bowling Club. The ladies closing and prize-giving will be on 13 April at George Bowling Club at about 16:00.
The men's opening is on 14 April at 08:30 at George Bowling Club.
The closing and prize-giving is on 20 April at George Bowling Club, also at about 16:00.
Jenny Sinclair, the convenor of the tournament, said George Mayor Leon van Wyk will deliver a message and roll the first bowl on Sunday 7 April.
The tournament has 125 teams of four ladies each, playing at George, Sedgefield, Leisure Isle Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Outeniqua, Oudtshoorn, Great-Brak Vista, Hartenbos and Mossel Bay bowling clubs. There are 179 men's teams of four players in each team playing at the same venues.
Spectators are most welcome.
