GEORGE NEWS - Two correctional services wardens and one prisoner were taken to hospital earlier this morning, Monday 21 October, when the bakkie they were travelling in overturned on the N2 highway near the Glentana bridge.
According to unconfirmed information, the vehicle was travelling from Mossel Bay to George when the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned, coming to a halt on the side of the road.
The seriousness of their injuries could not yet be confirmed, but unconfirmed information indicates that all three were conscious when emergency services arrived.
One of the wardens allegedly had to be removed from the vehicle with the jaws of life.
Emergency services are still on the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Motorists are warned to be cautious on our roads during the rain. Please keep a safe following distance, switch on your head lights and keep to the speed limit.
