GEORGE NEWS - The George Music Society is very excited and proud to present the Franz Trio from Germany on Wednesday 23 October at the Dutch Reformed Mother Church in Courtenay Street.
The concert will start at 19:30 and tickets for this performance will cost R170 for the public, R50 for learners and R120 for members of the George Music Society.
The Franz Trio will perform their programme 'Viennese Serenades' with compositions by Franz Schubert, Ludwig von Beethoven and Ernst von Dohnanyi.
This trio, which is based in Berlin, consists of Avigail Bushakevitz, violin, Ernst-Martin Schmidt, viola and Constance Ricard, cello. Avigail was born in Israel but grew up in George with her brothers Ammiel and Benjamin Bushakevitz, both exceptional musicians. She showed from a very young age that she was a very talented violinist.
Tickets are available online at www.georgemusicsociety.co.za. The George Arts Theatre is very kindly selling tickets for this Mother Church concert during office hours. Tickets will also be available at the doors.
The Franz Trio was founded in 2017 after playing their first concert together in France with works of Franz Schubert and Gideon Klein.
Their shared interest in literature, history and languages, as well as their backgrounds from South Africa, Germany and France, respectively, have allowed them to build a uniquely personal trio language.
Avigail Bushakevitz and Ernst-Martin Schmidt are married and have three children together.
