GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - WhatsApp messages about an attempted cash in transit robbery earlier this morning, have been circulating on various security and traffic groups.
According to the message the incident took place in the Outeniqua pass at about 05:40 this morning, Tuesday 3 January.
The cash in transit vehicle could get back to the depot, but the suspects, armed with automatic firearms fled the scene in a white double cab Ford Ranger bakkie with a CAA registration number. The Ranger's left side was damaged by the security vehicle during the incident.
The suspects are said to be armed and dangerous.
A media enquiry has been sent to the Hawks and George Herald is awaiting feedback.
Police is requesting the public to be on the lookout for the Ford Ranger bakkie.
