GEORGE NEWS - George Library invites the community to join its “Alice for Adults” meeting at 11:00 this morning, Wednesday 21 August, in celebration of Women’s Month.
The monthly “Alice” meetings have been becoming more popular as people discover the wonder in our own world, inspired by the adventures of “Alice in Wonderland”.
Almost everyone has had a brief encounter with "Alice" somewhere in their life journey, even if only in the rabbit hole of the internet.
Today's programme includes the mini-launch of a memoir by a local woman, Sharon Eland-Lewis, whose life is one of continuous struggle to overcome tremendous challenges. The book, written in Afrikaans, not only showcases her literary talent but also highlights her strength as a person living with a disability.
Join the wondrous world of "Alice" at the library, where "Antie Stienie" is also going to be a special guest. All the guests are encouraged to wear hats if they want to...
