GEORGE NEWS - At least three accidents occurred at the roadworks near the Gwaiing River Bridge on the N2 since Thursday night, 30 May.
In all three incidents the drivers of the vehicles lost control and landed down the embankment on the side of the road.
In the first incident, the driver of a white Toyota Hilux bakkie lost control of his vehicle and it rolled down the embankment on Thursday evening.
On Saturday 1 June, a female driver with a Mossel Bay registration number lost control of her Land Rover in the same area. Her vehicle also rolled and came to a standstill on the embankment.
Moderate injuries were reported, but the exact extent of her injuries can not be confirmed. She was transported to hospital.
Two people were involved in an accident when the driver lost control of his vehicle when it allegedly hit a puddle during Tuesday's heavy downpour.
The third and most recent incident occurred during the heavy downpour on Tuesday 4 June when the driver of a silver Peugeot lost control when the vehicle allegedly hit a big puddle of water on the highway.
The vehicle also came to a standstill on the side of the embankment. Miraculously no serious injuries were reported.
Media enquiries regarding the accidents, roadworks and that section of the N2, have been sent to Sanral, Provincial Traffic and the police. Feedback will be published once it is received.
The driver of this Toyota Hilux also lost control of his vehicle near the roadworks.
