UPDATE @ 09:00 - The N2 is open
GEORGE NEWS - Two people sustained minor injuries when their vehicle collided with the barrier between the two lanes of traffic at the roadworks near the Gwaiing River bridge on the N2 this morning, Friday 22 October.
According to initial information, the vehicle was travelling from the direction of Mossel Bay to George when the driver lost control of the vehicle on the wet road and crashed into the barrier, coming to a standstill in the opposite lane.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
ER24 paramedics responded to the scene and transported the injured to hospital.
According to George Municipality, the N2 is temporarily closed between the Herold's Bay and Pacaltsdorp turn-offs in both directions to remove obstructions following the accident.
Motorists must use the R102 until further notice.
