GEORGE NEWS - Five men were each sentenced to life imprisonment for murder in the Thembalethu Regional Court on Monday 8 July.
The men, Thando Duze (29), Sibsiso Tshuf (32), Sabelo Feni (33), Bonile Mabotshwa (31) and Siyabonga Yantolo (31), were found guilty of killing Nikelo Plaatjie on 24 April 2015.
According to Captain Dumile Gwavu, Thembalethu Police communications officer, the killing was an act of revenge after Plaatjie allegedly stabbed one of the suspects earlier that day.
The suspects found Plaatjie in a house in Tabata Street, Zone 9. Some of the occupants managed to escape, but Plaatjie was caught, kicked and killed with a hammer.
