GEORGE NEWS - Learners of Jonga Secondary School in Thembalethu and personnel of Carpe Diem School for learners with disabilities in George are now equipped with a better understanding of how "hands only" cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), an emergency procedure, should be applied.
Glenhael Carolus and his team from the International Centre for Medical Training recently held free 20-minute workshops for these learners and personnel.
"Typically we train the learners and adults how to apply CPR as a bystander, in case of emergency," said Carolus. "Learners are also taught how to seek emergency assistance."
The Grade 12 learners of Jonga Secondary received their training as part of a Career Day programme that was held at Universal Church.
Carolus will be presenting a workshop at Parkdene Primary School in the near future.
For more information or to book a free session, contact Carolus on 066 051 5226 or send an e-mail to icmedicaltraining@gmail.com or visit them on Facebook.
