GEORGE NEWS - No injuries were reported after a fire destroyed 11 structures in Thembalethu earlier today, Sunday 3 November.
"No one was injured. The people are safe," assured Ward 9 Councillor Thembinkosi Ernest Lento following a fire in Zone 7.
The fire broke out at about 15:00.
According to Lento, who was present at the scene, the fire brigade began leaving around 18:20 when the fire was under control.
At least 37 people, including 14 children, were affected by the fire. The remaining victims consist of nine men and 14 women.
