GEORGE NEWS - The organisers of the Alzheimer's and dementia awareness creation project, Wollie Molly, will have a stall at the Outeniqua Family Market on 21 and 28 December.
Their first market on 30 November was a great start to the project. The dolls, which sell at R10 each, represent the many "loose ends" in the brain caused by this debilitating condition.
The carer has the responsibility of trying to keep everything together for the Alzheimer's sufferers and their loved ones.
The organisers are grateful towards everyone who has contributed, to the women who make the dolls, and to those who donated wool and other materials. The dolls are not knitted, but hand-made.
Visit the Wollie Molly stall at the Outeniqua Family Market in December to get more information regarding Alzheimer's and dementia.
The funds raised will be used to send people who have the heart to become carers to be properly trained, as well as to send out carers to assist families who cannot afford their own carer.
This will allow families to enjoy breaks of a few hours from time to time.
