GEORGE NEWS - A possible grand future in modelling has opened up for Nelson Mandela University (NMU) student Hlumelo Zatu (21) from George.
At an International Talent Arts Show in September last year, he was selected to the team that will represent South Africa at the International Models and Talent competition in New York in July.
Hlumelo said this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that could see him achieving his dreams, and he dearly hopes that he will be able to raise the money needed for travel and accommodation.
He wants to prove to the world and his peers that no matter where you come from, you can achieve your dreams if you work hard.
"I want to be an ambassador of hope to many young people who come from the same background as me, to show them that you can achieve your dreams if you believe and work hard. Go out there and do what you love," he said.
Hlumelo has shown interest in modelling and singing from a very young age. As a child in Mdantsane, East London, he started singing when he joined a local choir that participated in many competitions,
He later joined the 33 and Me talent agency where he further developed his singing and modelling talent.
Hlumelo Zatu (21) was selected to take part in an international modelling and talent competition.
